On our first Tuesday class (9/9) the algebra 1 students will be given tests to evaluate their current abilities and to determine if they are in the correct class.
The next day, Wednesday (9/10) I will lecture on the first four lessons of the textbook and assign the required homework to be turned in the following Tuesday (9/16).
First homework is due Tuesday, 9/16.
First test: Tuesday, 9/23.
Recommended review prior to the first class day (9/9):
- Multiplication facts/tables
- How to add a column of numbers
- How to subtract, including borrowing
- How to multiply two large numbers
- How to perform long division
- Fractions – adding, subtracting, multiplying

Mr. Baumgaertel will help students develop a firm algebra foundation in this beginning course. Algebra is a key course in high school education. Students must understand algebra to succeed in many other courses and to attend Running Start.
