Mrs. B here again, folks. Apologies for the myriad of technical difficulties on Tuesday. I think we’re all better now.
I gave you a one-page handout on the Oso Landslide. Read it please and use it to answer these questions, due to me next Tuesday —
- When did the Oso landslide occur and how many people died?
- What geological processes shaped the Oso area?
- What had most Oso residents done for a living?
- What natural factors contributed to the landslide?
- What human factors contributed to the landslide?
- Besides people losing their lives, what else has impacted the community?
Thanks! Mrs. B

Mrs. B here, folks! Do this for me, due next week:
Today we finished learning about the Olympic National Park. I showed you a slide show with some videos. You took notes. You also labeled six points-of-interest on your map.
- Using your notes but NOTHING ELSE, write a paragraph about what you learned. It should be between 8-12 sentences long. I won’t be upset if it’s longer…but I will be upset if it’s skimpy and lacks effort!
- Color your Olympic National Park map, put stars/numbers where those points of interest were, and label them with a key.
- Both are due for a grade next time.

Hello students…this is Mrs. B with some information about your “Road Trip Activity.” Below is a link to a Washington State Tourism website which will give you information of places to visit and things to do on your “pretend” road trip.
You’re welcome to use this site, HOWEVER, don’t use it to map your route. Use it to discover cool places to visit, but not to plan your trip from one place to another. Got it? Next week you’ll be able to map your trip with those nice, big maps we have in class.
