Course Information – Syllabus
Recommended review prior to the first class day:
- Algebra: unit conversions, solve equations by adding a number to both sides, solve equations by multiplying both sides by a number
- Determining the slope of a line
- Trigonometry: Sine, Cosine, Tangent, and inverse functions; Solving right triangles
- How to use your calculator
- Read the chapter titled, “Introductory Remarks”, in the textbook.
- Read Module 1.

Mr. Baumgaertel is your physics teacher.
Please look over the Introductory Remarks in the text book and, also, read chapter 1, “Motion in One Dimension”.
Please bring your text book, Exploring Creation With Physics, 2nd edition by Dr. Wile from Apologia. Also, bring a one-inch three-ring binder for lab reports, a calculator, lined paper and pen and/or pencil.

“You will learn the basics about the universe around you and how it works”, says Dr. Wile, the author of the text book. Topics include motion, vectors, Newton’s laws, circular motion and gravity, work and energy, momentum, waves, optics, Coulomb’s law and the electric field, and magnetism. The student will be required to explain concepts, work problems, participate in labs and write lab reports.
